The Tustin Art League (TAL) and Chemers Gallery have joined up for the 6th year in a row to bring you the best of talent from local professional and amateur artists. But, this year, we are stepping it up! Instead of limiting the show to scenes of Tustin, we've opened it up to all of Orange County - the possibilities are endless! And, submissions are now pre-juried on-line.

So, go ahead and create your own interpretation of Irvine Park, Newport Beach, downtown Orange, even San Juan Capistrano! You don't need to be a professional artist or a member of TAL to enter - all are welcome to submit. All media are acceptable, the more creative the better. Get your paintbrushes, pens, pencils, cameras, sewing needles and printing presses ready for this exciting new show!

November Meeting

Our November meeting on the 14th @ 7:00 will put us in the mood for the upcoming holidays.  We will be making Christmas cards and enjoying cookies as we work.  Bring whatever supplies you would like to use to make the cards and TAL will supply the card stock and envelopes.

This will be the last meeting for 2012 but Marsha will be planning a trip to the Laguna Art Museum on Saturday, December 1st to see the Tim Clark exhibit.

Also, some changes have been made for our annual show, "Observations: Orange County All Media 2013" at Chemers Gallery this coming spring.  In the past, your paintings needed to depict a scene from Tustin or Peter's Canyon.  For this next show, your painting can be of any outdoor scene in Orange County.  You will be required to name the location so be sure it is in the OC.

The deadline for entries is March 1st and you will be required to submit a jpeg or photo with your entry.  If your work is selected, you will have time to frame it before the delivery date.

Please let Marsha know if you are planning to attend the meeting on the 14th so that she can purchase the correct amount of supplies.  Her e-mail is fuzz_42@pacbell.net

Plein Air Painting Workshop

On June 30th Kevin Davidson will be conducting a plein air workshop from 9:00 am to noon.  It will be held in Laguna Beach.  There will be about a 1 hour demonstration and then he will help the individual artists with their own paintings.  His demonstration will be done in oils but you can paint in the medium of your choice.  This is a small workshop so space is limited.  If you are interested, please contact Marsha Lindsey for details and space availability.  714-544-7715

June Meeting

On June 13th at 7pm in the TUSD Board room we will draw or paint a still life.  There will not be a demonstrator at this meeting.  We are just getting together as a group for a fun night of painting and visiting.  Bring your supplies and a drop cloth if you are a messy painter.
