Juan “Magoo” Valencia, Filipino, now residing permanently in the USA, is a fine arts graduate of the University of the Philippines. He was one of the founding fathers of the Philippine Watercolor Society and was a watercolor instructor at Ayala Museum in the Philippines for 3 years. Magoo was also a former Vice-president of the most prestigious art club in the Philippines, The Saturday Group of Artists. He worked as an art director for over 30 years at several advertising agencies. He has taught watercolor both in the Philippines and in the US, where he has conducted numerous watercolor workshops. He has participated in over 100 group art shows as well as being featured in several one man shows. Magoo honed his technique while working as a portrait and caricature artist at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Magoo was named Artist of the Year by Torrance Art Guild in 2008 and 2009. Recently, his latest one-man show on February 2019 celebrated his 40th year as a member of The Saturday Group of Artists. His favorite subjects include landscapes, still life, seascapes, figures, and old houses.
