April Meeting
Jim Salchek will be demonstrating watercolor for us on April 9th at 7:00. He will be donating the demo painting for our raffle.
John J. "Jim" Salchak has been captivated by
the medium of watercolor for the over thirty
years. His paintings have been shown in
numerous local and national juried exhibitions,
including the American Watercolor Society,
National Watercolor Society and Watercolor
West. Jim is a signature member and past
president of both the National Watercolor
Society and Watercolor West and has also
achieved signature membership in the Nevada
and San Diego Watercolor Societies.
In Jim’s workshops he emphasizes the
importance of selective vision through
simplification and focus and using the design
principles to create strong compositions. Jim
encourages direct painting, getting the right
value and color with the first wash, to achieve
good clean color and prevent overworking.

March Meeting
We will be having Ede Streiff demonstrating in pastels for our March meeting on March 12th. Please join us and feel free to bring any friends that might be interested.
Here is a bio from Ede:
"I am a Southern California artist who loves to paint and be outdoors. I have painted in oil, but more recently I have been focused on watercolor and pastel. Painting is fun for me, and I enjoy the process of creating a new piece. As often as I can. I paint on location. When painting in my studio, I use photos and sketches gathered from traveling to various interesting places. I have enjoyed painting trips to France and Italy. I have studied with varied and accomplished artists at workshops in new Mexico, Arizona and locations along the West Coast."
